Emmanuel Church is situated on the Longmoor Lane corridor opposite Seeds
Lane (and Kirkdale Cemetery). The church was founded jointly by the
Church Pastoral Aid Society and the Bishop of Liverpool who wanted the
growing community of Fazakerley to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.
The church building was opened in October 1908 after a colossal effort by the
local congregation and the church has worshipped and served the local
community ever since. As well as regular Sunday worship Emmanuel keeps
the doors open to the community in many and varied ways. There’s a fun
midweek group who meet over coffee and cake each Wednesday at 1.00pm
(CAMEO- Come And Meet Each Other), we run social events for men, women
and families and if you want to go a bit deeper there are opportunities to
explore the ‘big questions’ of life through our Christianity Explored courses.
Emmanuel also welcomes families: every 3rd Sunday is a lively All Age service
ideal for families. And we enjoy working with families and individuals who are going through Baptism (or Christening). And it’s always good to connect with many people in our community at different life stages.
We are part of the Fazakerley Team Ministry along with St Paul’s, Formosa Drive and working in Sparrow Hall (where we partner with Action for Achievement).
The current Vicar is Revd Mike Hindley who arrived in March 2009.
More information on the church and its service times can be found here.
