St. John’s church was consecrated on 10th. September 1880 and has served the area
of Walton Vale faithfully ever since.
The Eucharist is the main service which is celebrated every Sunday. There are two
Eucharistic Services, the first at 8.00a.m. for those who wish to have a quiet, said
service, and a Choral Eucharist at 10.00a.m. The first Sunday in the month is Parade
Sunday when our uniformed organisations join us for a shorter Choral Eucharist.
The young people actively take part by leading the intercessions, the offertory and
taking part in the sermons.
There is also a said mid-week Eucharist on Wednesday at 10.00a.m. Saints days and
Holy days are as announced. The Eucharist is Common Worship order one and we have a choice of three musical settings for our sung Eucharist.
There is a very strong musical tradition with a very dedicated and accomplished Musical Director and Choir. We have an excellent organ which has recently been re-leathered and overhauled. We also have a dedicated team of servers of all ages.
The Priest in Charge the Rev. Fran Myatt.
More information on the church and its service times can be found here.
